Renaissance BioScience Corp. Appoints CFO
Vancouver, Canada — November 10, 2021 — Renaissance BioScience Corp. (“Renaissance” or the “Company”), a leading global bioengineering company, is pleased to announce its Board of Directors has appointed Davona Walton, CPA, CA, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company. She previously held the position of Director of Finance for Renaissance.
Ms. Walton succeeds Michael Kirwan as CFO, who the Company would like to thank for his efforts over the past year during the COVID 19 pandemic. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Ms. Walton joined Renaissance in October 2020, focusing on preparing the Company for a go-public transaction, including transitioning the Company to public company financial reporting capabilities, improving the quality of company auditors, and reviewing the sufficiency and effectiveness of internal controls, processes and policies to ensure compliance with public company standards. Davona has also been instrumental in supporting or leading financing initiatives, culminating in the recent closing of the Company’s $5 million convertible debenture, as well as taking a broader role in shareholder communications and external messaging to the financial community. As a member of he Executive Leadership Team (ELT) at Renaissance, she has contributed to the execution of the Company’s strategic goals.
Prior to joining Renaissance, Davona was a Senior Manager for MNP LLP in Calgary, Alberta. As she grew her career at the national accounting firm, Davona obtained broad experience working with publicly listed companies and private companies preparing to publicly list in a range of industries. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University, majoring in accounting and obtained her chartered accountant (CA) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Alberta.
