Maurice Boucher has more than 35 years experience in the financial community, most of which has been concentrated in the equity funding and financial market development of early-stage technology companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, majoring in Finance and Accounting and he articled in tax, accounting, and audit with the small business division of Price Waterhouse in Vancouver, Canada. His finance career started in the retail brokerage industry, advancing to VP, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, for the Hong Kong division of Standard Chartered Bank.
Mr. Boucher's successful business operations experience includes being a founder, director, and CFO of China MobileSoft Ltd., a privately-held software company formed in 2000, with operations in Nanjing, China, Palo Alto, CA, and Vancouver, Canada. China MobileSoft was a visionary pioneer in the development of LINUX-based open-source smartphone operating system software. In January 2005, China MobileSoft, with 350 employees, merged with PalmSource, Inc. This merged company was subsequently acquired by ACCESS Co. of Japan in late 2005. Mr. Boucher was instrumental in the financing and operations of China MobileSoft, as well as the design and closing of the merger agreement with PalmSource, Inc.
